Boy have I got a treat for you today! Introducing Hazelnut Truffle…. oh maaaan! Until very recently, I don’t know if I’ve actually really eaten hazelnut before. I mean, I’m sure I’ve had it, but I probably didn’t know what it was.
Since Hazelnut (yes, with a capital ‘H’) and I have now been formally introduced, we’ve started a little thang. Like most food I share on here, it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. So obviously, I had to marry Hazelnut with my other obsession: chocolate! This recipe is super duper easy and is a fun way to get that Hazelnut fix in.
When it comes to health, I’m all about balance. So if you love hazelnuts and chocolate as much as I do, then you definitely need to make this.
You only need three ingredients:
100% chocolate bar/chips
Hazelnut butter
Honey
I bought a fancy shmancy chocolate bar mold on Amazon, but it’s absolutely not necessary. You could pour the melted chocolate into an ice cube tray or some sort of a container like a Pyrex or Tupperware. It really doesn’t matter! Really all you need is something to contain the chocolate while it sets.
- 8 ounces of 100% chocolate (either a baking bar or chocolate chips)
- 1-3 tablespoons honey
- ¼ cup hazelnut butter
- Using a double broiler, melt the chocolate.
- Add honey and hazelnut butter and mix until combined. I recommend starting with one tablespoon of honey at a time and tasting the chocolate after each addition. It's up to you and your taste preference as to how sweet you'd like your chocolate bar to be!
- Pour mixture into mold or container. Set in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
